Should my contractor have used gutter flashing when installing my new roof & gutters?

Depending on the pitch of your roof and what contract you agreed to with your contractor. Gutter flashing is a painted metal strip typically eight to ten feet long and it goes over the tar paper or ice and water shield before shingles are installed. It’s primary purpose is to help keep water away from your facia boards and drip into your gutters. If your facia boards are not painted or stained then you should do that before installing gutter flashing.
